Glenthorne Farm Stream Mitigation Bank (GFSB) was the first stream mitigation bank in Virginia's mountain region established to conserve, protect, and compensate for unavoidable impacts to waters of the U.S.
On July 16, 2008 the USACE issued GFSB a Nationwide Permit (Number 27, 07-G3616). This permit and the corresponding establishment, use, operation, and maintenance of the bank constitute an agreement entered into by GFSB, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality.
